Bull Shark

Team “wet hooker” experienced this loss first hand while fishing the Mercury/SeaVee Pompano Beach Saltwater Showdown tournament. The team was extremely excited to see a monster Wahoo crash their bait, but shortly after their fish was in pursuit by a true monster! A bull shark mangled their helpless fish biting a large chunk from the fish’s stomach. Brandon Lauritano stayed optimistic after their 45 minute battle and finally pulled the fish into the boat. Unfortunately he was unaware of the tournament rule which states that the fish most remain in whole condition, therefore they were disqualified. Its heart wrenching considering what would have been but that’s nature for you. The crew were helpless spectators as they watched the would be winning fish get eaten alive.
